Adding pillows to your decor is an easy and economical way to add comfort, interest and color to a room.

Pillows do not have to be rectangular or square, consider adding round, triangle or oblong shaped pillows as well as different size pillows for maximum comfort and appeal.

Feather and down stuffing feels both soft and luxurious but they do not hold their shape as well and can be more expensive. Synthetic fill and foam pillows tend to hold their shape better and are more reasonably priced.

When selecting your pillows, use complementary fabrics and colors to the existing finishes in the room. Mix patterns and solids but avoid using more than 2 patterns. Look for embellishments such as embroidery, beading, tassels or fringe. Layer textures such as

smooth silks and velvet with bulkier tapestry or faux fur.
