White As Fresh Clean Choice for Decor

Adding White to your decor will give your home a bright, airy cool feel.  Shades of White come in many different versions.  Warm whites tend to enhance traditional decor while cooler whites work better in contemporary or modern spaces.  It can be used as the main color or it can be easily added to any room as an accent color.

White can be incorporated into your decor a variety of ways.  Painting walls or moldings is a quick economical way to saturate a room in white.  It can also be considered when selecting upholstery and drapery fabrics.  Don't forget to add a touch of white with your accessories and linens.

White is always stunning when it is used in contrast with black.   It can be warmed up by incorporating dark, rich colors like blues or browns.  If you prefer a more neutral combination, using tans, light gray, creams or taupe.

The key to using mostly white in a room without it appearing to be boring or stark is using a variety of textures .  For example, use both rough and smooth finishes with  hard and soft qualities also incorporate a combination of matte and glossy surfaces.
